Call for Papers: JIMS’ Collection of Papers

From Equations to Action: Mathematical Models Driving Epidemics Control Strategies

We are pleased to announce a topic dedicated to advancing the understanding of how mathematical modelling informs and shapes public health decisions in epidemic and pandemic response.

Mathematical models serve as essential tools in understanding disease dynamics, forecasting outbreaks, and evaluating intervention strategies. This topic highlights innovative research where mathematical models move beyond theory to guide effective actions against infectious diseases.

We invite original research papers, reviews, and case studies that explore but are not limited to the following themes:

  1. Deterministic and stochastic epidemic models
  2. Modelling the impact of vaccination, quarantine, and treatment strategies
  3. Optimal control theory in infectious disease management
  4. Data-driven modelling and parameter estimation
  5. Human behaviour and mobility in disease spread
  6. Real-time modelling and forecasting for outbreak response
  7. Integration of mathematical models with public health policy
  8. Machine learning and hybrid approaches in epidemic modelling

In the hope that this initiative will be of interest, we encourage you to submit your current research for inclusion in this Collection of Papers.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts must be submitted online via  https://jims-a.org/index.php/jimsa   by registering and logging into the website. After registration, authors can access the submission form by clicking here   https://jims-a.org/index.php/jimsa/about/submissions. Manuscripts can be submitted until the specified deadline, and those that pass the pre-check will undergo peer review. Accepted papers are published continuously upon acceptance and are listed in both the collection of papers menu and in the regular menu. The journal welcomes research articles, review articles, and short communications.

Submitted manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under review elsewhere. All submissions undergo a thorough peer-review process. Detailed submission guidelines and additional information can be found in the Authors Guidelines https://jims-a.org/index.php/jimsa/about/submissions. JIMS is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal published 4 editions yearly by the Indonesian Mathematical Society.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open-access journal is 160 USD for foreigners and 1.500.000 IDR for Indonesian authors. Manuscripts should be well-formatted and written in proper English.

Keywords: Epidemic modeling, Infectious disease dynamics, Mathematical epidemiology, Disease forecasting, Data-driven modeling, Stochastic models, Policy-oriented modeling.

Benefits of Publishing in a Collection of Papers:

Ø  Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad-scope journals more efficiently.

Ø  Greater discoverability: Collection of Papers supports the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in the Collection of Papers are more discoverable and cited more frequently.

Ø  Expansion of research network: Collection of Papers facilitates connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.

Ø  External promotion: Articles in the Collection of Papers are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
